Planning meeting for 216 Palisade Ave. TOMORROW NIGHT

fight this neighborhood development<!–

Hello Neighbors!

The proposed 10-story development at 216 Palisade Ave is going before the planning board TOMORROW, Tuesday night, April 30, at 5:30 pm.

The hearing is at the City Hall Annex, 4 Jackson Square, Jersey City, NJ 07305.

The developer plans to build a 10 story building, the height of which far exceeds the surrounding buildings on Palisade Avenue or elsehwere in the Heights. The developer is also taking advantage of a loophole to claim that this building is senior housing, even though the building will be actually be market-rate apartments for which only one person per apartment must be over 55 (and a 55 year old is hardly a senior…). The building also will add more car traffic issues at the intersection of Jefferson and Palisade.

Our neighborhood association feels strongly that this sort of development will set a poor precedent for future developments along the palisade, resulting in many more high-rises that are inconsistent with the rest of the Heights. We encourage everyone to come to the planning board meeting tomorrow to speak out against this proposed development.

Please come speak out tomorrow night. This is your neighborhood and your city!

Thank you for the support!
