Join us for the first meeting of 2026!

This is the first meeting of the year and elections will be held for the board for 2026. If you have ever wanted to run for office, now is the time! We welcome your involvement in our neighborhood. In order to run for office your 2026 membership dues must be paid.

Membership Dues are $25 per household per calendar year. If you are allocated a garden plot, the dues are $40 (plot + membership). Dues can be paid in cash/check at the meeting, or through Venmo or PayPal on the Sgt. Anthony website at the link below.

There are five board positions:

President

Serves as the liaison between Jersey City government and the local neighborhood, advocating for local and citywide improvements; Chairs Association meetings; Represents the association at planning and local development meetings; Maintains website, calendar, and social media and email lists and sends Association email updates.

Vice President

Events planning chair; Responsible for ensuring permits and licenses are complete. Chairs meeting in the absence of the President. Assists with fundraising & grant submissions.

Treasurer

Collects dues and garden-plot donations; Pays vendors and reimburses members for Park-related expenses; Keeps receipts and updates organization budget; Reports on the budget and account updates at membership meetings; Files NJ State business account information annually and files state and local taxes. The Treasurer is named on the association bank account. Assists with fundraising and grants.

Secretary

Captures meeting minutes/notes during all member and board meetings; Edits, fact-checks, and shares the minutes at association meetings for approval. Once approved uploads the minutes to the website. Responsible for social media posts and prepares and sends e-newsletters to all subscribers. Maintains a membership roster.

Head Gardener

Conducts garden meetings and facilitates garden projects and improvements; Allocates and tracks annual garden plot rentals and open hours; Is responsible for the enforcement of garden guidelines. Maintains gardeners email group.
