THE PARK IS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
We hope you are all taking care of yourselves.

In light of the situation we are in, we want to make a specific push to ensure that we can come together as a community and do what we can to seek out and provide for those who are struggling.

We would really like to hear from our members on what challenges their households and neighbors might be facing, especially the elderly and those in need. We encourage you to reach out to your neighbors and let them know about the Association so that we can work together on a strategy to support our community. Our email is sgtanthonypark@gmail.com

CHRIST HOSPITAL:
Christ Hospital has been an important operation dealing with this crisis, and the county opened up the old Nurses building across from the Hospital for extra space. As of last week there are 25 people who have been transferred there from Christ Hospital, JC Medical Center & Hoboken.

COVID-19 CONTACT TRACING:
Governor Phil Murphy is building a community of Contact Tracers who will be vital over the coming months in the efforts against Covid-19. If you think this is something you would like to be part of you can visit: https://covid19.nj.gov/forms/tracer

PALISADE AVE UTILITY WORKS:
Since February the beginning of Palisade Ave has undergone some significant utility works. We have been in communication with Jersey City MUA who have informed us that the sewer and water mains between rt 139 and St Pauls are being replaced. The Palisade rock requires a lot of drilling before they can lay these pipes. Currently they have done 250ft of 900ft required, and the work should be going for about another month.

CENSUS:
Completing the census enables Jersey City to be effectively represented and receive the correct support from the state and federal governments. If you have not completed the census yet, please go here to do so: https://my2020census.gov/

SGT ANTHONY PARK:
Unfortunately the park must remain closed during this outbreak as there is not sufficient space to social distance, and in person events organized by the Association are also not possible. We will update the community as circumstances change, and will hold meetings virtually.

TREES:
Finally, we're so excited that new trees have finally replaced many of the dead and empty tree pits in front of Christ Hospital. Cleaning the air on the streets we inhabit seems even more important these days. We hope these will be here for generations to come. If you are interested in becoming a citizen scientist and mapping the city trees, you can sign up here, or get in touch.
