October Updates
A few quick updates before the Fall fully sets in...

See Click Fix:
We are encouraging all of our neighbors to use the See Click Fix app/website to report any issues they have with the neighborhood (trash, broken lights, potholes, sewers etc). See Click Fix work in conjunction with Jersey City Residence Response Center, and so any items reported on this site & app are immediately logged and have to be dealt with. Many other neighborhoods are using this very effectively and it would be great to see the the Sgt Anthony community at the forefront. http://en.seeclickfix.com/jersey-city#welcome

Flea Market:
Unfortunately we were unable to make the Fall Flea Market happen. We will work hard to make the Sgt Anthony Spring Clean Flea Market the biggest yet!

Sgt Anthony Park Upgrades:
We have been working with the city to find a way to install a generous donation of Adult exercise equipment. We hope this can be done in conjunction with installation of a new playground set for children and along with the City we will be consulting with members of the Sgt Anthony Park Association on the design in the coming weeks.

The broken arbor in the community garden was finally taken down and now work is underway to ensure that the garden is a space that can be left open for all to enjoy.....

On that note; The Jersey City Food Day is this Sunday 16th Oct. Sgt Anthony Park will have the community garden open for all to enjoy from 11am - 3pm.

Sidewalk Trees:
The Sgt Anthony Park Association strongly encourages curbside tree planting. The city offers to cut a hole and install a new tree for a heavily reduced price. There are lots of tree varieties available for those with less space or overhead wires, and you can print and fill out the form here: http://www.cityofjerseycity.com/uploadedFiles/2016%20Full%20Fall%20Tree%20Planting%20Application(1).pdf

Finally, we would like to say a quick thank you to the outgoing DPW director Mark Redfield who retired at the beginning of October. Over the past year, he was instrumental in helping the Sgt Anthony Park start some of the much needed restoration work, including the new  Sgt Anthony memorial, and the updated signage. We wish him the best for his retirement and hope he maintains a presence in the civic life of Jersey City.

We always want to hear from you so please come along and SHARE neighborhood concerns, LEARN about recent park improvements and JOIN your neighbors in creating a revitalized association.

Thank you,
Sgt. Anthony Park Association
